3Com HomeConnect ADSL Modem 1LAN 1WAN Cable, DSL & Wireless Modems Review

3Com HomeConnect ADSL Modem 1LAN 1WAN

Description
With the new ADSL Modem Ethernet, residential users, telecommuters, and SOHO users can now access the Internet or their corporate networks cost effectively and at blazing speeds over ordinary phone lines. Providing up to 8 Mbps of downstream bandwidth and enabling faster download speeds and quicker Web page displays, the HomeConnect ADSL Modem Ethernet improves productivity and eliminates the delays associated with lower-speed connections. And with no software installation required, getting online is easier than ever. The HomeConnect ADSL Modem Ethernet supports a variety of connectivity requirements. Connect the HomeConnect ADSL Modem Ethernet to a PC, Macintosh, or UNIX workstation with an Ethernet network interface card (NIC) for an individual user, or connect it to a hub or switch to provide multiple users with the benefits of high-speed access. Each modem has an Ethernet 10BASE-T port and includes the appropriate cable for connecting directly to your workstation, hub, or switch. The HomeConnect ADSL Modem Ethernet is built on the industrystandard Discrete Multi-Tone (DMT) line coding specification to ensure interoperability with the leading Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) and Digital Loop Carrier (DLC) vendors. 3Com supports this standard so you will be able to connect easily to your broadband service providers. In addition, 3Com provides the investment protection you need. The HomeConnect ADSL Modem Ethernet supports either full rate G.992.1 (G.dmt) or splitter less G.992.2 (G.lite) via software-only updates with no hardware changes necessary. As technology improvements become available, 3Com's exclusive Instant Update feature notifies the device over the Internet and allows users to upgrade at their convenience.
