Description Kingston's Data Silo DS500 steel rack mount enclosure is a reliable, stand-alone external expansion chassis that provides housing for up to nine half-height or four full-height SCSI peripherals, including 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch half-height CD-ROM, optical disk, tape or hard drives. The DS500 is also ideal as a RAID storage system and supports up to seven SCSI devices with one full-height RAID controller. The DS500 unwired model includes all mounting hardware, hot swappable power supply, hot swappable fans and blank filler panels. The DS500 is finished in black paint and ships with nine brackets for installing 3.5-inch devices into the nine 5.25-inch bays. The DS500 supports up to four host systems and its front operator display panel includes LED indicators for AC power ON/OFF; high temperature warning, cooling fan failure and power supply failure.
