Description The Allied Telesyn AT-8300 series of stackable Fast Ethernet switches combines exceptional performance with ease of use and flexibility at an affordable price. Each switch is designed for maximum performance using a non-blocking switching architecture to achieve full wire speed performance on all ports. When stacked together, up to eight switches share a 16Gbps switching matrix, allowing traffic to flow across switches with minimal effort. When used in critical networks, the switches can be installed along with an optional redundant power supply module to ensure continuous operation of the network even in the event of a power supply failure. Up to 3 switches can be stacked together in a 'mini-stack' mode, by simply inter-connecting the stacking port on the switches with a cable. This allows users to build a single switching fabric with up to 96 Fast Ethernet copper ports or 60 fiber ports with optional modules. Alternatively, the AT-STACK8 switching matrix module can be installed into one of the switches, which provides a 16Gbps switching matrix. This matrix connects to the stacking port on all of the stacked switches with a cable, providing up to 192 Fast Ethernet ports and 128 fiber ports.
