Description As the volume of network traffic continues to increase, and applications continue to grow in complexity and size, many customers are now requiring Gigabit speeds to carry high volumes of data traffic from the user to the core of the network. Allied Telesyn's AT-FS909SX switch has been designed to deliver high performance wire-speed Fast Ethernet switching for the workgroup, while providing Gigabit speeds to the corporate backbone or server. Each of the eight 10/100 ports on the AT-FS909SX switch supports half and full duplex operations and is IEEE 802.3u auto-negotiation compliant. Running in full-duplex mode, each 10/100 port can provide up to 200Mbps of aggregate bandwidth, while the Gigabit (1000BASE-SX) uplink delivers up to 2000Mbps. Additionally, this Allied Telesyn unmanaged switch supports up to 12K MAC addresses-one of the highest capacities in the industry. It is also one of the only unmanaged switches that is 802.1Q compliant, allowing oversized packets (1536 bytes) to pass through the network. This feature allows IS professionals the flexibility to extend their VLANs (802.1Q compliant) cost-effectively using the AT-FS909SX. The AT-FS909SX switch is fully auto-configuring, requiring minimal or no set-up by the user. The auto-negotiating ports allow seamless and simple connectivity between existing 10Mbps Ethernet and 100Mbps Fast Ethernet UTP devices and all units can be installed in minutes. A simple MDI/MDIX push button makes this switch easy to cascade to other switches, allowing flexibility when designing the ideal network.
