Description Allied Telesyn's TurboStack Family provides a full-featured, managed stackable hub solution designed for both workgroup and department concentrator environments. The AT-TS06F hub comes with six 10Base-FL ports (ST or SC). An additional modular port (pre-configured with AUI module) provides seamingless backbone connectivity through a broad range of appliques. The AT-TS06F hub can function as standalone units, a stackable workgroup solution, or as a departmental concentrator with up to eight units mounted into a chassis system. For more demanding applications, the TurboStack utilizes integrated segment switching technology, providing full 10 Mbps dedicated bandwidth to each hub unit. In this configuration, up to six hubs can be connected to a switch via a segmented backplane chassis. High-speed uplink ports for 100Base-TX (AT-TS90TR) and ATM (AT-TS95TR) eliminate bottlenecks to server farms or the network backbone. Each hub unit is capable of storing up to 300 MAC addresses. If entered into the MAC address table in two different ways. First, the user can manually add or delete addresses. When a new piece of equipment is attached to the hub, its pre-defined MAC address will be recognized. In addition, the hubs can be configured to update their tables automatically through Learning Mode, as pieces of equipment are connected to it. If the hub is switched back to Static Mode, all addresses will be kept until the user either manually deletes them, or they are updated in Learning Mode again. Secure and reliable data transactions are provided through Intrusion Prevention. In Static Mode, the MAC addresses of equipment that try to access the network are identified: unapproved addresses are blocked. If an intrusion is recognized, the port can be auto-partitioned, with an SNMP trap sent to the network manager. Redundant links, redundant SNMP management and hot-swap capabilities of the hubs increases network uptime and yield cost savings.
