Description The ELS10-27MDU is a 24-port 10BASE-T Switch with three Fast Ethernet ports. All Fast Ethernet ports are fixed RJ45 ports. Two optional EPIM-100FX modules support 100BASE-FX via Multimode fiber, and when installed these become the operational ports 26 and 27, instead of the fixed RJ45 ports 26 and 27. A maximum of 27 operational ports is supported. The ELS10-27MDU provides unique firmware designed for product installation in a multi dwelling unit, in which security and restriction of data traffic between user ports are the primary considerations. This is accomplished by using special VLAN configuration features of the switch. For additional information on the usage and configuration of the switch, refer to the ELS10-27MDU User Manual Addendum. Auto Negotiation is supported on all ports of the ELS10-27MDU. The 10BASE-T ports will auto negotiate for Full or Half Duplex 10 Mbps operation. The fixed RJ45 100BASE-TX ports will auto negotiate and operate at Full or Half Duplex 10 Mbps, and Full or Half Duplex 100 Mbps. The optional EPIM-100FX modules do not support Auto Negotiation since this feature is not supported by the 100BASE-FX standard. Local Console Management (LCM) allows the user to monitor and configure the ELS10-27MDU from a VT-type terminal. LCM can be used to configure features such as Spanning Tree, Port Enable/Disable, VLANs, and Device IP address. LCM can also provide statistical and diagnostic information about the entire device or an individual port.
