Summary

I recently wrote a review on the Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS system which is one of the best consumer GPS units on the market. One of the biggest hurdles facing the 660, however, is the steep price (in excess of $700 as of this writing). Though I happen to...

Strength

Same great Nuvi functionality as the higher-priced 660 line. Great screen. Spoken-street directions.

Weakness

No QWERTY keyboard or external volume control.

Bottom Line

A great GPS unit at an affordable price. The Nuvi 360 should be on everyone's list.

Summary

Background: Research led me to Garmin as the best choice for a GPS unit and I quickly focused on a StreetPilot 550 and a Nuvi 360. For navigation capabilities, both units have very similar specifications except for size. Both list for about $625, but...

Minimal Owners Manual, difficulty finding stores and other attractions, traffic reports requires additional FM receiver

Bottom Line

The Nuvi 360 isn't perfect, but overall it's great tool. Easy to install and operate, far superior to highway maps and Mapquest. I'm satisfied.
