Bottom Line Everybody else's product IS compatible with Comcast without having to spend an hour attempting to (unsuccesfuly) reconfigure the modem's firmware! Get something- ANYTHING else. I was initially impressed by the small size so instead of provisioning it for him, I decided to keep it & set him up with my very reliable Toshiba pcx2200. 1st problem: Would not link up with Cox at all... Strength Small, Compact size Weakness Un-reliable problematic modem. Bottom Line Get SMC model SMC8004CM instead. This D-Link DCM-202 is a pain. SUPER modem... ditch the cable company's junk!

Called the cable company to update my MAC. Plugged it in and within 2 minutes I was online. It couldn't have been simpler... Strength Obscenely fast transfer rate, rock solid connection, easy setup Weakness For Comcast customers, requires firmware upgrade Bottom Line Unequivocally, buy this modem. It is the fastest I have used, and I have had no reliability problems with it. Great performance and great price!

This is cheaper than the $80 they were... Strength Cheaper than the others. Works well. Weakness None really. Bottom Line Why pay more for the others when this one will do the same thing for less?! This modem should never have been released to market
