As reliable as cable modems can be. Weakness Two year warranty (when purchased retail). Issues with USB on older computers. Bottom Line A very good, reliable, proven, inexpensive, DOCSIS 2.0 compatible modem. I imagined all the wrong things! It was the modem!

Strength If you have a Docsis 1.1 modem, pitch it in favor of this. Weakness $60 cost beyond the crazy cable modem monthly fee! Bottom Line Given all that we pay for cable internet service, we might as well get our money's worth on bandwidth, and this does it. SB5120 possibly a problem with overheating?

However, the ISP tech mentioned the outside box was in serious need of replacement...as was the cable coming into the home. OK... I needed a... Strength Easy to set up, small, compact, and, hey, it's a Motorola Weakness All the lights are on when connected and possibly mine has a heat sensitivity. Bottom Line I'd check around for other newer modems and reviews before getting the SB5120. Motorola has excellent products but I'd still shop around. Upgraded from the SB4100
