Strength Outstanding sound quality and specs, 24/96 recording and playback, solid drivers. Weakness No mic preamp, built-in MIDI synth or surround sound features -- not for gamers. Bottom Line Recommended for those who can use its specific feature set -- it's a good idea to check out features very carefully before buying a soundcard, particularly a $150 soundcard. This card rocks!

Written By therion22 Date Written Dec 06 2004 Summary I have a stereo system hooked up to my computer that consists of a Denon receiver, Onkyo Amp and some Def tech 350 bookshelf speakers and SuperCube II subwoofer. I used to use a Sound Blaster Live! Value 5.1 with a mini-jack -> RCA adapter for sound.... Strength Price Weakness Gaming (thats what the Sound Blaster is for!) The best sound interface below $300
