Written By sirwired Date Written Dec 15 2005 Summary There is really not much to say about this little box. It does exactly what D-Link says it does. The unit is compact (about 4x4x1.5) and it comes with a small power supply that only takes a single outlet space, unlike some of the bricks shipped... Strength Cheap, easy to setup for most users. Weakness Not compatible with multi-function printers. (This is a limitation of ALL generic external print servers.) Bottom Line For what it costs (after rebate), it is a fine product. Make sure it works with your printer before cutting out any barcodes though. Does the trick.

Written By economy1 Date Written Mar 09 2008 Summary I was accustomed to leaving my desktop PC running most of the time so that I could use its shared printer whenever I or my wife booted up our laptops. I considered purchasing a new printer with networking built in, especially an all-in-one unit, but I... Strength Small and affordable. Weakness D-Link management interface is clunky. Bottom Line If you have an older printer that still works fine, you can patch it into your wireless network and print wirelessly. Firmware Updates Necessary! But impossible to do!!!

Written By hitechuser Date Written Dec 26 2007 Summary Chances are you'll need the latest version 2.10 firmware upgrade for the DP-301U. Version 2.10 fixes several bugs, and provides compatibility with many printers. My brand new DP-301U came with long outdated firmware, right out of the box. Any ways,... Strength A very compact product. Weakness Firmware cannot be upgraded via web browser. PS Admin software sucks! Bottom Line Nice idea for a product, but absolutely horrible to use as-is. D-Link support sucks!!! PS Admin should be called POS Admin. My review

This works great for printing one thing at a time, but if you print more than one document (not page) at a time they sometimes overlap (on the same page!). If... Strength Small, Cheap, does the job Weakness Too slow. Not enough spooling memory (if there is any at all). D-link DP301U print server Disgraceful
