Written By km21 Date Written Apr 29 2005 Summary I'd had some problems with other enclosures working properly, thought that Macally would be better quality and it is. 5 minutes after I opened the box I was up and running with my Mac on both USB and Firewire. This is what all external enclosures... Strength Solid, well thought out, easy installation. You will be satisfied. Weakness None that I can see. Bottom Line You can save a few bucks and get a slightly cheaper enclosure. But this is a much better solution. Nice enclosure for laptop HDD

There are a lot of options out there ranges between $12 to $40 but not all enclosures are the same. What are the pros? - It supports both FireWire and... Strength Both FireWire and USB 2.0 support, solid aluminum case. Weakness No power supply, no manual, too bright LED. Bottom Line I recommend this unit because it supports both FireWire and USB 2. Aluminum case is always good since it makes your HDD happy. Does NOT work on early PowerBooks

It does work via the USB interface. It functions well on the latest Aluminium PowerBooks and on a G3... Strength Good Enclosure, with resilient mounting for the drive. Weakness Slow response to request for support. Delighted with product.
