Summary

I wanted to convert my slide and negative collection to electronic images that I could save on a cdrom. I wanted to do this for two reasons, one, because my collection takes up a lot more room than a couple of cdroms and two, because print negatives and...

Strength

USB Connection, decent suite of software, decent speed, basic color correction capability

Weakness

35mm only, software has a few annoying quirks

Bottom Line

Easy to use, cheap film scanner for 35mm film/slides. Needs a few software tweaks to the interface but is otherwise an excellent product.

Summary

***UPDATE 4/5/02 ***

I've been using this scanner for quite sometime and have been more or less satisfied with it. So far I've scanned in a little over 500 slides and some negatives. I would like to comment that this scanner doesn't work too good on...

Strength

quick scans easy to use

Weakness

colors a little off. slides are sometimes too dark.

Bottom Line

Summary

I borrowed this from someone at work to try to scan in all the slides I had taken in Europe years ago. I'm glad I got a chance to use this before actually spending money to buy it.

The scanner comes with Presto! Mr. Photo and Presto!...

Strength

USB; Cheap; Easy to adjust scanned images

Weakness

Just about everything else

Bottom Line

Avoid even if it's free! There were way to many problems to make this worthwhile.
