Summary

I got this recorder for recording my calculus lectures. The sound quality was really good at first. The actual organization of the recorder was really confusing so I put it away for about 11 months. I got it out to record Physical chemistry lectures and discovered it had developed a really annoying 'buzz' on the left side. I returned it and was able to exchange it for an SX68. The sx68 is easier to use and sounds just as good. Digital recorders are much more expensive then analog stuff, but there are no tapes to fool with and sound quality is so much better. I tried the analog first because it was so much cheaper and the sound quality was pretty poor too. Also the tapes were easily damaged and play-back could be an exercise in futility.
I recommend buying a digital recorder to record lectures. The sx46 has been replaced, at least at the store where I bought it by the sx68. I look over my notes, listen to the lectures and mentally kick myself for not doing it sooner.

Strength

SX68 very clear sound quality, easy to use, good directions

Weakness

SX46: developed 'buzz' in left channel, directions were confusing

Summary

This is an owesome recording tool. Since the day I turn it on, It has been an effective tool for me. I carry it everywhere I go. I record my thoughts on it, I used it at conventions, seminars, and meetings. Because of it's size, I used it even when I'm not suppose to use it. If you know what I mean. Excellant battery life. Excellant speaker's tool with a good Label Mic. I'm lost without it.

Strength

It's small and can be well hidden.
Records well behind a mans tie.
Very light in weight.
Excellant sensitivity in recording. If there's sound, it will pick it up.
Records of to 10 hours with not problem.

Weakness

I haven't had any problems with this device.
