The (only slightly) less expensive reader's CF slot was not large enough for Type II cards (such as a MicroDrive). It was also very cheaply constructed. So I returned the... Strength Cards are seen as separate drives Weakness Price seems a little high but that's Sony Bottom Line If the one I have was lost, stolen, or run over by a tank, I'd definitely buy another one of these if my card-reading requirements were still the same. Ok

Written By eschew_hype Date Written Dec 12 2007 Summary I needed a USB card reader that would read Smartmedia, SD, and Memory Stick cards. Unfortunately this reader does not appear to read Smartmedia even though this is an advertised feature. I've tried two of them and neither would read the 64MB Olympus... Strength Appears to support at least some of the card types it claims to support. Weakness Does not appear to support all card types (specifically Smartmedia) that it claims to. |
