Product Description

Sony’s DVD Burner incorporates 8.5GB DVD-R Dual Layer, DVD+R Double Layer burning and dual Format 4.7GB DVD burning. It has a maximum speed of 20x for DVD burning. That translates up to 27MB per second for really fast DVD copying. Double/Dual Layer discs let you store up to 8.5GB on a single DVD+R Double Layer or DVD-R Dual Layer disc, giving you plenty of room for more Video and Audio entertainment, Digital photo archives, and information Storage and the DRU-840A provides a faster speed of up to 12x burning or 16.2MB per second. DVD+R burning speed is a blazing 20X maximum, burning a full DVD in approximately 5 minutes.

Summary

I purchased this with the impression that all the software for making this unit fully functional was included. The Nero 7 software is for the burning function but the playback function in Nero Show time is only a trial version which will not function...

Strength

Probably a great piece of hardware.

Weakness

No DVD playback software included in the bundle.
