Raid X is raid 0, raid 1 or raid 5, depending on how many drives are installed. It... Strength Very flexible. Very well designed unit. Weakness Not so fast. Support SATA-II drive, but a SATA-I speeds. Bottom Line Very good unit. Very pleased with it. Netgear ReadyNAS is Awesome
